Chant Medicine: An Embodied Journey into Sacred Time (Digital Download)

$10.00

Join us for an evening of sacred chant, meditative, somatic techniques, and opening to the Hebrew month of Tevet with Ariel Hendelman.

The practices of chant and meditation are portals, inviting us into a more expanded state of being. Each chant contains medicine for the present moment waiting to be revealed. When we join meditative chant together with the rhythms of our sacred calendar, these practices allow us to enter deeply into the specific energy of each month.

In the Kabbalistic tradition, Tevet is associated with the liver and the attribute of anger. During this month, we can purify our anger and sanctify it for a higher purpose. Anger—fire, passion and vision—tempered with the flowing & life-giving waters of chant create an alchemical transformation that can reveal more potential for what is possible within our bodies and consciousness.

About our guide:

Ariel Hendelman is a rabbinic student with the ALEPH Ordination Program. Ariel first discovered the mindfulness practices of meditation and chant on a six-day silent retreat and they soon became the cornerstones of her spiritual practice. Ariel leads chanting for Or HaLev’s monthly online Rosh Chodesh Circle, as well as in-person circles and retreats around the Northeastern US. Ariel is currently recording her debut album, Prayers for Fire & Water, a mix of niggunim and folky Americana, which will be released in the spring of 2023.
