Inspired by the piyut Mi She’Aanah, recited at the end of Kol Nidre in Ashkenazi communities.
May the One who planted a garden in Eden
and placed there the human among the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life—
Teach us and heal us!
May the One who opened the eyes of Adam and Chavah
when they ate of the fruit of wisdom—
Teach us and heal us!
May the One who received Hevel’s offering
from the first fruits of the land—
Teach us and heal us!
May the One who showed Noach the vine
and let him rest from his sorrow—
Teach us and heal us!
May the One who appeared to Avraham
among the oaks of Mamre—
Teach us and heal us!
May the One caught a ram in the thicket
near the altar of Yitzhak—
Teach us and heal us!
May the One who brought the mandrakes to Re’uven
and passed them to Leah, who offered them to Rachel,
whose prayer was then heard—
Teach us and heal us!
May the One who taught Ya’akov to peel the rods
of poplar, almond, and plane trees,
and draw forth life from patterned wood—

May the One who planted Tamar at the crossroads
to demand restitution—

May the One who showed Yosef sheaves in a dream
and turned grain into the path of redemption—

May the One who drew Moshe toward the fire
that burned in the bush but was not consumed—

May the One who sweetened bitter water
with a branch in the wilderness—

May the One who fed us with mannah
while we cried for onions and melons—

May the One who gave Miriam a well
that watered trees and brought forth healing fruit—

May the One who brought us to Eilim,
where twelve springs and seventy palms
offered rest to the twelve tribes—

May the One who showed us the grapes of promise,
carried trembling on the shoulders of spies—

May the One who commanded hyssop and cedar
for the cleansing of body and spirit—

May the One who gave spices for the incense
to be offered by the hand of the kohen—

May the One who seated Devorah beneath a date palm
to speak justice to Yisrael—

May the One who fed Rut with barley
and redeemed her beneath the wings of chesed—

May the One who taught the people a parable
for leadership according to the trees—

May the One whose voice resounded in the garden
among pomegranates and apples, thick with desire—

May the One who fed Eliyahu with broom tree in the wilderness
and sent him forward in the power of what grows—

May the One who multiplied oil for a woman
through Elisha and filled her empty vessels—

May the One who healed Chizkiyahu
with a cake of figs—

May the One who showed Yirmiyahu the awakening of the almond
and gave him a scroll to swallow—

May the One who caused the castor bean to spring up over Yonah,
to shade him and expose his heart—

May the One who revealed to Yechezkel a river lined with trees
whose leaves are for healing—

May the One who promised that justice will flourish like the cedars of Levanon,
and peace like a tree planted by streams of water—

מִי שֶׁלִּמֵּד אֶת יַעֲקֹב לְקַלֵּף מַקְלוֹת לִבְנֵה וְלוּז וְעַרְמוֹן וּלְהוֹצִיא חַיִּים מִתַּבְנִית עֵץ —
הוּא יְלַמְּדֵנוּ וִירַפְּאֵנוּ.
מִי שֶׁשָּׁתַל אֶת תָּמָר בַּפֶּרֶשׁ דְּרָכִים כְּתָמָר שֶׁצַּדָּקָה הִיא —
הוּא יְלַמְּדֵנוּ וִירַפְּאֵנוּ.
מִי שֶׁהֶרְאָה לְיוֹסֵף אֲלֻמּוֹת בַּחֲלוֹם וְשָׂם דֶּרֶךְ תְּבוּאָה לִתְשׁוּעָה —

מִי שֶׁמָּשַׁךְ אֶת מֹשֶׁה אֶל־הָאֵשׁ שֶׁבְּתוֹךְ הַסְּנֶה וְלֹא אוּכַל —

מִי שֶׁהִמְתִּיק מַיִם מְרִירִים בְּעֵץ בַּמִּדְבָּר —

מִי שֶׁצִוָּה בְּאֵזוֹב וָאֶרֶז לְטָהֳרַת הַנֶּפֶשׁ —

מִי שֶׁצִוָּה בְּסַמֵּי קְטֹרֶת שֶׁבִּידֵי כֹּהֵן נַעֲלֵה —

מִי שֶׁהֶאֱכִיל אֶת רוּת בְּשִׂבֹּלֵת וְגָאָלָהּ תַּחַת כְּנַף חֶסֶד —

מִי שֶׁנָתַן לָאִילָנוֹת מָשָׁל לְמֶלֶךְ וּלְשִׂיחָה שֶׁל שִׂכְלוּת וְעֲנָוָה —

מִי שֶׁהִשְׁמִיעַ קוֹלוֹ בְּתוֹךְ גַּן שֶׁהַשְּׁקוּלִים וְהָרִמּוֹנִים יָשְׁבוּ בְּתוֹךְ תְּשׁוּקָה —
הוּא יְלַמְּדֵנוּ וִירַפְּאֵנוּ.
מִי שֶׁזֵן אֶת אֵלִיָּהוּ בְּרוֹטֶם הַמִּדְבָּר וְשִׁלְּחוֹ בְּכֹחַ הַצָּמִיחַ —
הוּא יְלַמְּדֵנוּ וִירַפְּאֵנוּ.
מִי שֶׁהִרְבָּה שֶׁמֶן לְאִשָּׁה עַל יְדֵי אֱלִישָׁע וּמִילֵא כֵּלִים רֵקִים —
הוּא יְלַמְּדֵנוּ וִירַפְּאֵנוּ.
מִי שֶׁרִפֵּא אֶת חִזְקִיָּהוּ בִּדְּבֶלֶת תְּאֵנִים —

מִי שֶׁנָּתַן לִירְמִיָה שָׁקֵד לִרְאוֹת וּמְגִלָּה לִבְלֹעַ —

מִי שֶׁהִצְמִיחַ קִיקָיוֹן עַל יוֹנָה לְהָגֵן עָלָיו וְלְגַלּוֹת אֶת לִבּוֹ —

מִי שֶׁהֶחֱזָה לִיחֶזְקֵאל נָהָר סָבִיב לוֹ עֵצִים וְעָלֶיהָ לִתְרוּפָה —
