I Shall Weave Melodies: Creating a Jewish/Psychedelic Playlist

Thursday, October 9th

9:00am PT | 12:00pm ET

Music is one of the oldest technologies for altering consciousness—and Jewish tradition is filled with melodies designed to open the heart, stir the soul, and guide us through transformation. In this workshop, we’ll explore how sound can shape psychedelic experience, drawing from nigunim (wordless melodies), piyutim (sacred poetry), and contemporary Jewish musical artists. We’ll reflect on the emotional and spiritual arc of a journey, and how Jewish soundscapes—ancient and modern—can accompany and deepen it. Participants will learn practical principles of playlist building, from tempo and tone to intention and integration, while weaving in their own ancestral and devotional resonances. Together, we’ll listen, share, and curate music that moves us—toward awe, grief, joy, and return. By the end, you’ll begin crafting your own sacred soundtrack: a playlist that prays, holds, reveals, and sings you home.

This session will be 75 minutes, including an optional 15 minutes breakout room/discussion section at the end. All registrants will receive the recording and resources.
